"The value of the extra funds for the set cannot be overstated! The set design was ambitious and required that an extension of the stage be constructed.. This was an important element for the vision of the show and it absolutely enhanced the experience for both the cast and audience. But it added quite a bit to the budget. Because NAEF stepped in and provided the supplemental funds we were able to create a special holiday experience for the 150 cast and crew members as well as the packed houses we played to. Thank you, NAEF for supporting arts education in our community!"

About NAEF Grants

Through a large assortment of grants, cash donations, matching funds, and partnerships, NAEF is helping to promote and support the arts and creative educational programs throughout Natomas Charter School. Whether it be a large grant for construction of a theater, or smaller grants for education and art related projects, NAEF is striving to provide unique opportunities for cultural growth and awareness.

Past grants have included $500,000 toward original construction cost of the Benvenuti Performing Arts Center to over 80 smaller grants ranging from $100 – $30,000 benefiting local schools, educators, and students. Click here to see a comprehensive list of past grants awarded. 

Most recently, in the 2025-26 school year, NAEF awarded 31 grants totaling more than $14,000. With a commitment of an additional $20 million toward the renovation of the PFAA BlackBox Theatre, new building for Leading Edge, and a new building at Star Academy to expand their TK program, special education classrooms, and their new music program.

Our next educator grant deadline for the 2026/27 school year spring semester is Friday, February 5, 2027. 

Our next student grant deadline for the 2026/27 school year is Friday, December 4, 2026.
