Before we wrap up 2018, the Natomas Arts and Education Foundation (NAEF) would like to take a moment to thank you. It is annual members like you who make our efforts to support arts and education at NatomasCharter School, and throughout our community, a reality.
With your support, 2018 was a fantastic year for NAEF! We produced our first ever Youth Theatre For All summer show, Bye Bye Birdie. This project offered children, ages 10-18, the opportunity to perform in Bye Bye Birdie with NO FEE required. This project proved to be a wonderful chance for so many kids are might be interested in theatre and simply can’t afford the expense often associated with youth theatre.
We plan to do it all again and we are excited to announce the 2019 Youth Theatre For All Summer show will be Little Shop of Horrors.  Auditions will take place April 16, 2019, at the Benvenuti Performing Arts Center. Please visit our beautiful new website at www.natomasartsandeducation.org for more information.
We were also thrilled to offer a Masterclass with Tony winner, Faith Prince, to both the students at NatomasCharter School and the community, again at no cost to attend. We are dedicated to removing financial barriers to valuable artistic experiences like this and look forward to offering more of these kinds of events in the future.
After a hugely successful Big Day of Giving last year, raising over $20,000, we are so excited to do it all over again in 2019. We will host our fourth annual Eat Your Art Out Family Fun Night in conjunction with Open House on the Blackrock Campus of Natomas Charter School. Food trucks, bounce houses, music, and games for the whole family to enjoy and a great opportunity to learn more about the students and educators we support. So, mark your calendar and join us for fun, festivities, and fundraising on Big Day of Giving May 2, 2019!
The NAEF Summer Arts Camp will be back again this year! With planning underway, we are looking at ways to expand and build on the great success we had last year. We will once again give kids exposure to various artistic outlets including visual arts and theatre. We will also be moving our camp to the STAR Academy campus which offers after camp care through BASE. Registration will begin through our website in early March.
These programs are evidence of our growth and the impact we have on the youth we support and we couldn’t do it without you. Thank you for your ongoing investment and continued belief in our mission. You are a Part of the Heart of Art in Natomas!
With Great Appreciation,
The Natomas Arts and Education Foundation Family
